Well, I guess I wasn't looking to compare STP to other bands so much as simply stating the obvious - the fewer musicians you have on stage, the more critical it is everyone carries their weight to pull off each song. I thought about it a little bit, and I can't actually remember a concert where I felt like the lead guitarist was "hiding" behind the rhythm guitarist or keyboards, but I have been to shows where sometimes I felt things were getting lost in the mix and it was hard to tell whether anyon
Good call. I think you're right the intros were variations on Press Play and Daisy. This was actually the first time I've seen STP live and was not disappointed. I was a little bummed there was nothing from Shangri-La, only Trippin', Press Play and Daisy from Tiny Music plus Down and Sour Girl from No. 4, but honestly I would have been happy with any collection of songs as I believe each album built on the last in its own way. I'm REALLY looking forward to hearing their new materi
Well, this is the second time in 2009 that I have seen STP (8 times total). The other was back in July at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD. Both shows in 2009 have been stellar. The one last night in Greensboro was amazing. The guys really seem tight musically and sound outstanding. Scott seems all about the music and is proving why he's the best front man ever. I do miss him being more animated at times, but I'll take this version of Scott and feel bl
Stone Temple Pilots has and will always be my ALL TIME favorite band! I have been waiting 17 years to see STP in concert (the first time I heard Core) and this past Halloween night it finally happened. Not only did I get to see STP but for them to be on tour with the Meat Puppets... it was like a gift from the gods themselves! It was the most amazing show that I have ever seen. The sound was hypnotizing! On my way home I listened to my personal favorite STP record Purple. T
To STP,
I went to the show last night in Birmingham, AL and was blown away by the amazing performance of the band. It was my first STP show, but certainly won't be my last if I ever have the chance to see you guys again. Rob was very entertaining on bass and even played a little acoustic guitar too. Dean nailed his signature guitar parts, while also interjecting some improvisation to put a fresh spin in places. Eric was truly outstanding and from one drummer to another, the biggest compliment I can
I Still can´t believe it! What amazing show, guys! It was really incredible!! Finally, the dream of thousands Argentinian fans was made true! Thanxs, Thanxs, Thanxs, Scott, Dean, Robert and Eric!!
This would more specifically be a question for Dean. I recently bought a guitar that I absolutely love. After I bought it...I was told a story regarding its history. I was wondering if Dean could confirm it for me. Half the history has been confirmed by Gibson, the STP conection has not.
The guitar is a 2002 Gibson Les Paul that was originally bought by Rick Nielson of Cheap Trick. I has extensive modifications such as the pick up customization, 78 bridge, faber tone lock and solderless wiring. It
Dude! I had another dream about STP! It was pretty freakin cool!!!
I dreamt that I was going to a STP concert... I was with a friend who didn't even have a ticket...We are inside the venue and he somehow ends up with a ticket and a VIP pass. He gets to hang out with STP before the show and after! I'm like WHAT? How did you get that??? I asked a lady at the ticket stand and she was like...Sorry! No more! Grrrr I get to watch my friend go into this extra "show room".
I'm standing outsi
i have recently learned that scott is releasing a solo album and going on tour after the STP tour is over. i thought STP was going to work on THEIR new album after the tour. what's the deal? is STP really back together or was this reunion tour a one time thing? STP has scheduled dates clear to the end of october and still has not rescheduled the two shwos in florida that were canceled. scott's tour supposedly starts in november. please STP, don't forget your fans who have been waiting years for new musi
Just wanted to say the Spokane show last night was amazing. BRMC led things off with some great songs (I'm on iTunes right now looking at some of their songs) and after a short wait STP hit the stage. From the start it was pretty apparent that these guys were on their game. Honestly you're not sure what to expect from Scott but I have to say that he looked good and sounded great. High energy, nailed all the lyrics, interacted with the crowd and even cracked a few smiles! The whole band sounded great - t
Hey,
I like your idea but theres 99.9 percent chance that, thats not going to happen and if you want it that bad then just go do it.....its not like your illegaly downloading their songs or anything.......hell its more promotion than stealing and I'm sure they would all aprove.
I have "STONE TEMPLE PILOTS" tatted on my arm and Dean and Rob aprove of it.....and I had no hand in creating the name......Dean saw it and told me I was wild.....Rob grabbed it and "Its bee
The show tonight was very underwhelming. BRMC seemed very annoyed and tense, probably from the previous night's events. They played an amazing set and floored us. Really took out their anger on stage.
STP hit the stage. Scott was obviously strung out. His voice was not up to par at first, but it didn't matter because the audience drowned him out anyway. They only played the hits, that kinda sucked. It was cool to see STP live, but man, the tension in the band was awful. Rob
Hey guys the show happened and the guys got through it.....but.......Scott slogged his way through three quarters of the show. there came a point where scott was visibly flipping off eric on stage and dean had to step in between the two. there were high points but these guys are definitely fighting some demons. good luck to the boys but i think the end is near. i wouldn't recommend anyone to shell out top dollar expecting vintage scott and stp
Well I was front row waiting for you in Tampa last night with a sign

thing that I gave to Bruce to give to you.......I hope it gets to you
and I'm sorry we didn't get to rock last night and hope to see you guys
back here soon!

BRMC went off stage
probably around 8pm. During the wait..probably around 9:30, we make a
beer run only to have the taps cut off and the beer person saying
because STP is not there.
Well I made friends with some girl next to me, and she new one of
the head security people. He came over and told her that everyone was
backstage except Scott Weiland who was nowhere to be fo
