Tonights STP show at PNC Bank Arts Center was hands down the worst concert I've ever been too. I lost almost all my respect for this band. First, they came on stage an hour late. I thought there was going to be a riot if they didn't play. They finally came out and Wieland must have been on drugs. He forgot lyrics. He mumbled lyrics. He tripped on stage. He didn't sing in synch with the music at times. He nearly punched himself in the face with the mic. His speech in between songs was meaningles
Unreal.
I waited forever to see these guys, and this is how they act? I had to leave at 10:55 - mainly because I was scared there was going to be a riot, since I was told the venue had to close at 11:00; there were enough fights before the long delay. They literally went on at 10:30pm. KROCK said they played until sometime after 11 - did they at least go to 11:30?
I don't know what to say. I'm in shock.

GUESS you're PERFECT are ya? You know exactly how it is to struggle within yourself and your fellow memebers to SOAR HIGH and create EXECLLENT music do ya? WE all know these days, times are tough all over. Food, Gas, TICKET PRICES...
SHIT, YOU're LUCKY you got to GO TO A SHOW ... quit your bitchin! There are SOOO many folks out there who are NOT lucky enough to hear new music let alone see a 'live' show...AND WHO ARE YOU to judge them????? STP is a 'unique-mind-mezmirizing'experince'. SORRY they weren't up to your 'PAR' .
IF YOU HAD TO DEAL WITH a tiny flicker of what these guys are doing, (bustin' ass, writing, recording, touring-----dealing with ASSHOLES LIKE YOU) you might have an off night as well. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS YOU got to go to a show.
NO ONE IS EVER happy when they are jealous. Shitty show or not, you got to experience STP LIVE. SHUT UP AND QUIT YOUR BITCHIN.
scott is scott,,,,if you know ANYthing about them, you might know there may be a slip or two or twelve.
STP ROCKS and I'm sad someone who actually got to be in there presence and here them LIVE complains. Just goes to show ya, there will alwayz be downer in the group.
peace, luv, KEEP ROCKIN and swaying, and staggerin
SCOTT AND GUYS....you ROCK
Listen, lots of bands "bust their asses" playing shows. I get it - Scott's a mess, Rockin' and Rolling is so hard, etc - but don't think if you're charging alot of money for a show that people are going to react positively
Scott was a disaster tonight and as much as I wanted to love them, it sucked.

If you pay to see STP you SHOULD exepect the UNKNOWN.
SCOTT and his guys are CRAZY, thats why we all listen and LOVE THEM. YOu should prize your ticket as one of the WACKED OUT shows. I've seen them 5 times and 2 out of those times I WAS THRILLED. The others were shows like you must of just experinced
I'd be PISSED off IF I DIDN"T Get that from them.
You were LUCKY ENOUGH to get a ticket and go........
BITCH ABOUT the price of fuel, or food, not to see GOOD/BAD (in whose ever opinion) music. AT LEAST YOU WERE THERE TO BITCH
I was there too...abou
I can back up the other posts. Scott was a disaster tonight. The other members of the band were obviously annoyed (Scott even tried to make a mumbled apology to them, saying he messed up). He was missing lyrics, falling all over, and was so obviously not in a good state.
This was after they came on at 10:40 after the crowd booed loudly several times.
I have to say that Im more sad than angry. I saw STP many times before this and never has Scott been this much of a wreck.
I have a feeling more will stem from this....ho
Hippienikk
I see your point of view but Im not sure the posts have made clear how bad this was tonight. We know Scott, and even other singers, get a little messed up now and then, but not so bad that you cant put on a show at all.
I just think you had to be there to understand
They played until 12.
Worst show ever?? C'mon! While it was obvious that something was up, they still managed to put on a good show. From my area, no one was booing after they hit the stage, and instead, everyone seemed to be having a great time. I didn't see him hit himself with the mic, and this was the first time I could understand
The band was fine but Scott was an embarrassm
I do agree that the one hour wait between Filter and STP was insane, but something was definitely up. I've seen tons of STP shows over the years, and this is not something that STP would pull. Clearly Scott's struggling right now. The show itself was amazing though. STP played some great old tunes that we haven't heard in a while, and there was lots of energy coming from that stage. Scott was clearly out of it. He forgot the lyrics a few times (I was sitting right in front of him and watching his mouth the whole time...for more than one reason ;)) and he just looked dazed and confused. Dean, Rob and Eric rocked, but Scott was clearly out of it. It's so sad. I've been a HUGE Stone Temple Pilots fan since they released Core back in 92, and Scott needs so much help right now. I just hope he realizes at some point that beating drug addiction is a daily battle and you have to love yourself more than the dope if you wanna survive.
All that aside, I need more STP and I need it now. How awesome was it to see the guys back together again after nearly 6 years?!?! I hope they book some NYC club gigs in the fall. I am sooo there. LOVE THEM!! Here's a pic I took tonight on my cell cam -
They played til 12:00 so basically played for 1 1/2 hours.
I'll admit, I was pretty annoyed that we had to wait over an hour for them to perform. But I really don't think the show was bad ??? Scott definitely was out of it, there's no doubt about it...not sure if he was more than just drunk. But I thought they sounded good and loved the set list.
Look...we don't know all the demons Scott has in his closet but being a heroin addict (amongst other things) performing on stage for over 15 years, says a lot about the resilence of this man - he still came on and the band had to have paid PNC major money to play threw the curfew...so did they really let the fans down ?
I'll always be a huge STP fan. I think all you haters out there need to step back and realize that as a lead singer with drug problems, you're going to unfortunately slip up (although I've never seen STP make the crowd wait for that long....it definitely makes me concerned). Booing and yelling 'STP SUCKS' was a dick move....all it does is put more negativity out there...If they cancelled the show, then I could see everybody flipping out but they did play a solid set.
No matter what happens with the tour, I'll never be a fair-weather fan only liking these guys when everything is perfect.....
Stop my bitching??
...we may never know for sure what the issue was last night, but if you were in their position would you want to go on when seemingly thousands of people are booing you? I know I wouldn't. I really think K-Rock botched it by sending Opie and Anthony out to introduce STP when they obviously weren't ready to take the stage. That just seemed to incite the crowd that seemed to be primarily made up of angry drunken men. How sad. For me, the crowd was much more disappoint
So thanks boys for the show, hope all is well and see you at Musikfest!
I was at the show last night and thought it was decent. The wait was annoying but once they got going it was a good show. Not the BEST, but honestly, it was what I expect at any given moment with Scott. I think the main concern here is SCOTT! I think if you're a fan of his you should be concerned about HIM and not what kind of show you got at this point. He SERIOUSLY needs help. I hope the people around him don't get mad at him but do all they can to HELP him make a decision to go to rehab and get some NEEDED help. Hopefully HE will want it for himself as bad as other people do. I for one would like him to get that help. Imagine how GOOD he could be if he were sober :)

The bottom line is, when you pay hard earned money to see a concert (which is a lot, with ticket price, gas, food, etc), you expect to see a good show, not someone stumbling around the stage like Weiland last night. I've seen bands play when the lead singer was sick and they sounded better than he did last night. I've seen him preform with Velvet Revolver twice and he was great. He
usually brings tons of energy to the stage and one of the other posts
put it best, he looked like a bum last night and sounded terrible. I can't believe some people think the preformanc
I think someone standing by me said it best, "This show is the perfect anti-drug commercial

Last night at PNC was a utter disappointment. Scott, you should be embarrassed for not only yourself, but the band and people who waited years to see you. I've been a die hard STP for well over a decade, but last night preformance was just inexcuseable.
People can on this board can make all the excuses they want about how we should be gratful that we got to go to a show, and Scott is a fuckup and we should expect this from him. Fuck that, this guy has gotten more than enough chances, and he fucked them all up. I feel like a sucker that I actually paid 70 bucks to see last night's trainwreck. Rock 'n roll shouldn't be perfect but it sure as shit shouldn't be that garbage last night. I'm not even going to get into the setlist, and how fucking cookiecutter it was.
Maybe this reunion wasn't such a good idea. Like many many others, I've been waiting for this reunion for years and this is the show I' was waiting for. BULLSHIT! I can't speak for others, but I know that next you guys make your way into the Tri-state area, I for one will not be there.
Scott, you let a lot people down last night, unfortunately I can't say I'm surprised.
I agree. Last night show was horrible. I saw them a week ago in CT and they sounded incredible
I know the fans are PISSED about the performance, but to be honest, I am VERY concerned about Weiland's physical health b/c he wasn't himself....his peformance reminded me a lot of the Jimmy Kimmell mini-concert they did back in April - he seemed out of it....but I don't think the show was as 'HORRIBLE' as everyone is saying but hey, that's my opinion. I had a pretty good vantage point in section 102 so I could see/hear the band quite well.
People's remarks that 'he should never show his face in NJ', 'if he comes to NY, I won't be there'...well GOOD, don't show ! Who needs your negativity ??? Everyone on the boards has a right to their opinion...but the negativity is just draining.
There's obviously MAJOR problems with Scott....no doubt about it, but I'm still happy I was able to see the guys perform (even though this show is not up there as one of the better ones). And when they do come to NY, I will be pumped to go see them...I won't let a not-so-great performance turn me away as a fan.
